MACC detains GLC employee for submitting false claims

MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers in Johor Baru have detained a government-linked company (GLC) employee on suspicion of submitting RM10,000 in false claims over a three-year period.

According to a source, the 39-year-old woman was detained at 10am today while giving her statement at the Johor MACC office.

“The suspect is said to have submitted false claims from 2017 to 2019, for the implementation of district programmes but the programmes were not carried out fully,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Johor MACC director Azmi Alias today confirmed the detention, adding that the case was being investigated under section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

The woman was later released on MACC bail. – Bernama, January 6, 2023.
