BUKIT Bendera MP Zairil Khir Johari today confirmed his engagement to DAP Socialist Youth national executive committee member Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Zairil said the engagement ceremony was held in Ipoh earlier today and was attended by close friends and family members.
“It’s a most special occasion and I’m glad to have the support of those dearest to me,” said Zairil who is also DAP’s national assistant publicity secretary and Penang vice-chairman.
Zairil also mentioned his previous marriage which ended last year and how Dyana is accepted by his family, especially his two children.
“They say when one door closes, another one opens. And so it has been since my marriage was dissolved last year. Such is life, and we keep moving forward.
“I am truly happy to have found in Dyana someone whom I know will make a compatible and supportive partner in life.
“More importantly Dyana is loved dearly by all in my family, especially my two children,” he said before ending the post saying he is “looking forward to new beginnings.”
There had been rumours of the pair dating when several photos of a couple, looking like them, circulated online in 2014.
However, the two had denied it was them in the photos.
They were then caught in another controversy when a video of a pair who resembled them, dancing, made the rounds in April last year.
Zairil and Dyana denied it was them in the video as well. – March 10, 2018.
