ACTIVE Covid-19 cases in Malaysia continued to decline as the Health Ministry reported 333 new infections against 376 recoveries yesterday. 

This brings the active cases to 11,763, of which 11,109 people were in home quarantine (94.4%) and 654 were in hospital (5.6%).

There were 32 patients in intensive care, 20 of whom required respiratory assistance. 

Pahang reported the sole coronavirus-linked fatality yesterday, taking the death toll to 36,859. 

Of the new Covid-19 infections, Selangor logged 82, Kuala Lumpur (58), Sarawak (34), Kedah (27), Perak (20), Johor (18), Malacca (18), Penang (17), Sabah (17), Kelantan (14), Negri Sembilan (12), Pahang (5), Terengganu (5), Putrajaya (5) and Perlis (1). 

Labuan did not register any new infections yesterday. – January 4, 2023.
