DAILY Covid-19 infections in Malaysia are on a downward trend as the country logged 360 new cases yesterday.
The new infections took the country’s cumulative number of cases since the onset of the pandemic to 5,027,457.
Sarawak reported yesterday’s only coronavirus-linked fatality, bringing the death toll to 36,858.
Of the new infections, Selangor logged 109 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (40), Kedah (32), Sarawak (23), Malacca (21), Penang (21), Johor (19), Perak (17), Kelantan (15), Pahang (15), Negri Sembilan (14), Terengganu (11), Putrajaya (11), Sabah (10), and Perlis (2).
Only Labuan did not register any new infections.
Active cases further declined to 11,807 after 423 patients recovered from the illness.
Among the active cases, 11,197 people were in home quarantine (94.8%) and 610 were in hospital (5.2%).
There were 30 patients in intensive care, 16 of whom required respiratory assistance. – January 3, 2023.
