POPULAR textile retailer Jakel Shah Alam in Selangor was razed in a fire this morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said there were no casualties.

He said firefighters rushed to the scene soon after the department was alerted of the fire at 7.08am.

“Upon arrival it was found that the fire had destroyed 80% of the corner shophouse. The fire was brought under control within an hour,” he said in a statement.

Norazam said the cause of the fire is under investigation. – Bernama, January 1, 2023.
