MALAYSIA recorded 513 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total number of cases to 5,026,677 million since the start of the pandemic, the Health Ministry said.

One death was reported in Perak yesterday bringing the total death toll to 36,853

States and territories that reported new infections were Selangor (159), Kuala Lumpur (72), Sarawak (49), Penang (46), Kedah (36), Malacca (31), Perak (18), Negri Sembilan (17), Putrajaya (17), Johor (16), Kelantan (16), Pahang (13), Sabah (12), Terengganu (8), Labuan (2) and Perlis (1).

Currently there are 620 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, with 33 in intensive care. –  January 1, 2023.
