AT least 1,323 heads of households in Kuantan, who were affected by the floods a year ago, have not claimed the basic necessities assistance and home repair assistance, according to Kuantan Mayor Hamdan Hussin.

He said more than 23,800 heads of households were eligible to receive basic necessities assistance, while a further 1,611 qualified for home repair assistance.

“The money which has not yet been claimed is supposed to be returned tomorrow, but the Pahang federal development office has agreed to extend the claim period until the end of February 2023,” he said.

Hamdan urged those affected by last season’s floods to check their respective names with Kuantan City Council. – Bernama, December 30, 2022.
