MALAYSIA recorded 679 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total cases to 5.026 million since the start of the pandemic, the Health Ministry said.

A total of six deaths were reported yesterday with one dead on arrival, bringing the total to 36,851.

States and territories that reported new infections were Selangor (221), Kuala Lumpur (94), Sarawak (79), Malacca (50), Penang (44), Perak (34), Kedah (30), Johor (26), Kelantan (24), Putrajaya (21), Pahang (19), Terengganu (14), Negri Sembilan (9), Sabah (9), Labuan (3) and Perlis (2).

Currently there are 645 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, with 34 of them in intensive care. – December 30, 2022.
