THE Health Ministry has expanded the use of the MySejahtera app for appointments at government hospitals and clinics to prevent overcrowding and long wait times, said minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

She said appointments can be made through MySejahtera for 673 healthcare clinics for now.

This will later be expanded to include more hospitals and clinics.

“This will allow healthcare facilities to organise their schedules based on their respective capacities and avoid overcrowding at registration and waiting areas,” she said in a statement today.

Zaliha said appointments may be made for outpatient treatment, visits under the National Health Screening Initiative (NHSI) and the healthcare scheme for the B40 group (PeKa B40) and others.

She said appointment dates for 2023 for these services may be set through MySejahtera effective today.

Users can also cancel or change their appointments through the app.

Emergency treatment will not need to be booked through MySejahtera beforehand, she said.

On Monday, Zaliha had said her ministry had begun drawing up plans to resolve the issue of overcrowding at emergency and trauma departments. – December 28, 2022.
