FORMER PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin has been appointed senior political secretary to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. 

In a Facebook post, Anwar said Shamsul took his oath of office and secrecy in Putrajaya today, which was also attended by Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali. 

Also taking their oaths of office as political secretaries were Ahmad Farhan Fauzi and former Alor Star MP Chan Ming Kai. 

“May they be able to perform the duties entrusted to them well and with utmost humility,” Anwar said. 

In the general election last month, Shamsul contested in Bagan Datuk but lost to incumbent Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, while Chan held Alor Star from 2018 until the polls. – Bernama, December 23, 2022.
