THE body of a girl was the latest to be retrieved from the site of a landslide that struck the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Batang Kali, Gohtong Jaya, near Genting Highlands.

The body was found at 11.15pm yesterday, taking the death toll to 25.

Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah said the girl was believed to have been five to seven years old.

The body has been sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem.

“I can confirm that the body of a girl has been found,” he said briefly to Bernama last night.

Suffian said police will hold a press conference this morning to divulge more details as the search for missing people continued.

The search and rescue operation resumed this morning after ending at midnight yesterday.

Eight people are still unaccounted for following a landslide that occurred around 3am on Friday. Sixty-one people survived the disaster. – Bernama, December 21, 2022.
