Search for Batang Kali landslide victims resumes

THE search and rescue (SAR) operation for nine remaining victims of the Father’s Organic Farm campsite landslide in Gohtong Jaya in Batang Kali will resume today morning.

Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Suffian Abdullah said the search resumed at 8.30am.

“The SAR operation was suspended last night at 11pm and resumed at 8.30am today subject to weather conditions,” he told Bernama.

The SAR operation, spearheaded by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, managed to rescue 61 victims out of a total of 94 victims of the landslide that hit in the wee hours of Friday (December 16). The landslide resulted in 24 deaths, with nine still missing. – Bernama, December 20, 2022.
