MAIN routes connecting Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang are still passable despite the floods, Terengganu police chief Rohaimi Md Isa said today.

Rohaimi said the roads connecting the two east coast states with Terengganu including the East Coast Expressway 2 and Jalan Pantai from Kemaman to Besut were still passable as of 8pm.

He said so far, only a few roads in Setiu, Dungun and Besut were impassable after being flooded since 8am today.

“In Setiu, KM67-68 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kota Baru is impassable.

“Motorists can use alternative routes: Jalan Batu Rakit-Pantai Penarik-Saujana-Kuala Besut-Tok Bali-Bachok,” he said in a media statement tonight.

According to Rohaimi, the Padang Luas-Bukit Yong route in the Besut district is closed to all types of vehicles and motorists can use Jalan Pantai Kuala Besut-Tok Bali-Bachok as an alternative.

“In Dungun, KM76 of Jalan Jerangau-Jabor near the Bukit Besi Road Transport Department weigh station is closed.

“As an alternative, road users can use the Paka Toll-LPT 2-Bukit Besi toll route,” he said, while urging motorists to plan their journeys and use alternative routes. – Bernama, December 18, 2022.
