Mother, daughter found clutching each other in final embrace

THE death toll from this morning’s landslide at a campsite in Batang Kali, Selangor, rose to 18 after two more bodies, believed to be a mother and her daughter, were found this evening.

FMT reported that the two were found buried in the mud, embracing each other.

“Both were found at 4.40pm. They were hugging each other. We believe they were mother and daughter,” a Fire and Rescue Department official was quoted as saying.

Authorities confirm that 18 people, including one child, have been found dead so far after a landslide at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Batang Kali, near Genting Highlands, at about 3am.

Some 17 people are still missing and the search for them is continuing. – December 16, 2022.
