MALAYSIA reported 1,161 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the nationwide total to 5,014,88 million since the start of the pandemic.  

Three coronavirus-linked deaths were reported, with two classified as dead on arrival. 

The latest deaths raise the toll to 36,787. 

There are currently 16,811 active cases, of which 15,749 individuals (93.7%) are undergoing home quarantine while 1,004 individuals (6%) require hospitalisation. 

Fifty-eight are in intensive care, with 34 requiring respiratory assistance. – December 16, 2022.
