FLOODING in five states showed signs of improvement this evening when the number of people seeking shelter in Pahang, Terengganu and Johor decreased, with no change in Perak and Kelantan.
In PAHANG, the Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat said Pekan was the only district affected by the floods this evening, with 142 people bedding down at SK Sinar Mutiara in Sungai Miang.
In TERENGGANU, there were 37 people in Kuala Terengganu at SK Atas Tol.
In JOHOR, 91 people were seeking shelter in Segamat at 4pm at Balai Raya Kampung Batu Badak, Balai Raya Kampung Kuala Paya, and Dewan Komuniti Kampung Tasek, while another shelter was open at SA Pangkalan Batu in Mersing at 12.30am.
In KELANTAN, a total of 2,019 people in Pasir Mas were taking shelter at SK Tok Deh, SK Kedai Tanjong, SK Gual Periok, Masjid Mukim Padang Licin, PPS Putat Tujoh, SK Kubang Kual, and SK Sri Kiambang.
In PERAK, authorities said 104 people were placed in SMK Abd Rahman Talib near Hilir Perak; SK Padang Serai di Manjung; and Kampung Tersusun Teluk Memali public hall in Perak Tengah. β Bernama, December 15, 2022.
