Police welcome procurement of body cameras

THE police force believes the use of body cameras can enhance the integrity, professionalism and transparency of officers when carrying out their duties as well as safeguard the interests of all parties.

Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the police will ensure their use will elevate the quality and efficiency of the force and provide optimum service to the public.

“The Royal Malaysian Police welcome the initiative by the government to expedite the procurement and enforcement of body cameras for the motorbike patrol unit and patrol car units,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the government had approved an allocation of RM30 million to procure body cameras for the police to carry out their duties efficiently. – Bernama, December 14, 2022.
