PERLIS Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli met today with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya to discuss matters pertaining to the development of the country’s smallest state.

“It’s just a normal meeting, to discuss problems facing the Perlis state government,” said Anwar, who is also finance minister, after the meeting which lasted more than an hour.

Shukri said development projects in Perlis were discussed.

Earlier, Anwar arrived at the Finance Ministry accompanied by his two deputies Ahmad Maslan and Steven Sim Chee Keong.

Anwar had previously said that he would be scrutinising projects approved by the ministry through direct negotiation.

He has ordered a review of RM7 billion worth of projects for flood mitigation that were awarded by direct negotiation instead of tender. – Bernama, December 12, 2022.
