AN elderly woman was among six people who escaped unhurt when a 9m-high landslide damaged their house at Taman Halaman in Ampang this evening.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said a fire engine, along with seven members from the Ampang fire and rescue station, was rushed to the scene after a distress call was received at 6.14pm.
He said initial inspection found that there were two houses affected by the landslide, but the other house was empty. No casualties were reported.
“The landslide hit the back of two houses involving an area measuring about 9x15sq m.
“There were six people in the occupied house – a woman in her 70s, a man and a woman in their 40s, and three girls aged between 10 and 16,” he said in a statement.
Norazam said all of them were advised to evacuate the house temporarily, adding that firemen were closely monitoring the site. – Bernama, December 9, 2022.
