MALAYSIA recorded 1,616 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative infections in the country since the onset of the pandemic to 5.007 million cases.

A total of four deaths, with one classified as dead on arrival yesterday.

Perak reported two deaths, followed by Selangor and Terengganu with one each.

The latest fatalities raise the toll to 36,742.

Selangor recorded 474 cases, followed Kuala Lumpur (154), Sarawak (145), Penang (130), Kedah (104), Malacca (96), Negri Sembilan (83), Sabah (82), Perak (77), Putrajaya (75), Kelantan (51), Pahang (44), Terengganu (42), Johor (30), Labuan (19) and Perlis (10).

A total of 1,324 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, with 81 in intensive care. – December 9, 2022.
