ALL government ministers have agreed to take a 20% pay cut from their monthly salary, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.

The practice would remain until the economy is fully recovered, he said in a special press conference after chairing a special cabinet meeting in Putrajaya today.

He added this was also to demonstrate the government’s concern for the public’s welfare.

After being sworn in, Anwar said he would not take a salary for his position as prime minister, a pledge he had made on his campaign trail. – December 5, 2022.
