THE cops have summoned PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to have his statement recorded after a police report was lodged against him.

A source said the Marang MP will be at the Sentul police headquarters at 3pm today.

Critics have demanded action over the controversial remarks Hadi previously made, which were deemed racially inflammatory.

The Islamist party chief, however, was quoted in recent reports as being unperturbed by the mounting complaints regarding his words and said he was ready to go to the police headquarters and had no issues with anyone lodging reports against him.

“Go on and lodge a police report. I’m willing to go to Bukit Aman, it’s all right,” he was quoted as saying by news portal Malaysiakini after a ceramah for the Tioman state seat election in Pahang last week.

Hadi also accused DAP of spreading Islamophobia in a Facebook post that featured the usual diatribe against the Pakatan Harapan component member as a party allegedly bent on “destroying” Islam. – December 5, 2022.

  • Let us hope the police charges him with Sedition. He sounds like a dangerous man bent on destroying the fabric of the nation for self empowerment!
