MALAYSIA reported 2,421 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the nationwide total to 4.997 million since the start of the pandemic. 

Nine coronavirus-linked deaths were reported, with three classified as dead on arrival.

The latest deaths raised the toll to 36,704.

Selangor also accounted for most of the new infections with 1,000, followed by Kuala Lumpur (174), Sabah (173), Sarawak (156), Malacca (153), Kedah (135), Pahang (107), Penang (102), Perak (85), Kelantan (84), Negri Sembilan (64), Terengganu (64), Putrajaya (49), Johor (38), Labuan (22) and Perlis (15).

Active cases stand at 24,053.

A total of 97 patients are in the intensive care unit, with 62 requiring respiratory assistance. – December 3, 2022.
