Anwar meets with Al-Sultan Abdullah

YANG di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah met with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim this evening, the first such meeting since Anwar took office last Thursday.

Istana Negara posted pictures on Facebook of the Agong and Anwar talking at the royal palace.

The palace did not disclose any other details about the 5pm meeting, with Anwar yet to announce his cabinet.

The prime minister is also scheduled to attend the Conference of Malay Rulers meeting at the palace tomorrow morning.

Anwar, 75, took his oath as 10th prime minister before the Agong on Thursday.

During his maiden press conference, Anwar stressed that the unity government was formed with the participation of several parties to ensure the stability of the country and economy, as well as upholding the spirit of the Federal Constitution.

He said the three largest components of his unity government are Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional and Gabungan Parti Sarawak. – November 29, 2022.
