Anwar must prove his support, says Muhyiddin

PERIKATAN Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin has challenged Anwar Ibrahim to prove that he has the majority support of MPs to lead the government. 

In a press conference just minutes before Anwar is sworn in as PM, the Pagoh MP said Anwar must show his numbers. 

“I am not disputing the formation of a unity government, but Anwar’s appointment as prime minister. 

“I have 115 statutory declarations of MPs backing me as the prime minister as required by the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Harun,” he said.  

He reiterated that this was Azhar’s instruction. “We followed what was required.” – November 24, 2022.

  • I suppose he can also challenge AI in Court, all the way to the Federal Court if need be, So what if it takes more than 5 years :-)
