THE Yang di-Pertuan Agong will meet the other Malay rulers in a special conference tomorrow in Istana Negara.
Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah called the meeting to seek the views of the other royals about the political deadlock.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 10am.
This is after Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyuddin Yassin declined the king’s request yesterday for his coalition to form a unity government with Pakatan Harapan.
Following the meeting, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim indicated a willingness to accede to the king’s wishes with any of the parties.
In the general election, PH won 76 seats while its coalition member Sarawak DAP collected five and Muda one, for a total of 82.
PN and PAS won 51 and 22 seats, respectively, for a combined total of 73.
BN could only muster 30 seats. – November 23, 2022.
