Klang residents warned of extreme high-tide phenomenon

KLANG residents have been warned of the risk of an extreme high-tide phenomenon that started yesterday and will last until Sunday, which may lead to possible flooding.

The Klang Disaster Management Committee in a statement said the sea level is expected to reach a reading of 5.3m tomorrow and Friday. 

The committee reminded Klang residents to always be aware of current environmental phenomena and obtain the latest information on weather conditions from relevant government agencies. 

The public can lodge reports in case of a disaster by placing a call to a 24-hour emergency line via WhatsApp with the Klang District and Land Office at 010-869 1067. 

The Klang District Disaster Operations Room was activated yesterday and will remain open until Sunday. – Bernama, November 23, 2022.
