Zahid has no moral authority to decide for Umno, says Khairy

ANY discussion on the formation of a new government must not include Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as he has lost all moral authority, said Khairy Jamaluddin.

The former health minister said Zahid has lost all moral authority as Umno president and must step down immediately.

“He may be president in name but has no moral authority left to decide on behalf of Umno,” said Khairy, a former MP who was beaten in the general election by a Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate in Sungai Buloh.

Khairy has waded into the debate over who will form the new government and who will become prime minister, which the palace is currently deliberating.

The Agong yesterday gave major coalitions until 2pm today to come up with a prime ministerial candidate.

Perikatan Nasional (which includes PAS and Gerakan) is said to have joined up with Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah to form a new coalition to take over Putrajaya. They have chosen Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister.

PH’s Anwar Ibrahim, meanwhile, has reached out to Barisan Nasional (BN) to form a coalition. But this move is being hotly contested by several BN lawmakers who said they would rather be in the opposition as they lost the mandate to govern the country. – November 22, 2022.

  • If he doesn't want to resign, my question to umno especially those in the supreme council, can't you a vote of no confident to boot him out since Zahid is both deaf & blind not to mention dumb??? Why all the barking asking him to resign and getting no where??? Do something that translate into action of him been shown the door, is that so difficult???
