Reports said the two parties have agreed to work together for the sake of stability.

Perak PH chairman Asmuni Awi said a deal was struck with BN in the state.

“We have agreed. It will be a BN and PN government. We hope the new government will be a stable one,” he said in a video that has gone viral.

Caretaker menteri besar Saarani Mohamad is expected to be reappointed to the job.

PH has 24 seats in Perak while BN has nine. Perikatan Nasional has 26 seats. Perak has a 59-seat assembly.

In Pahang, sources familiar with the matter said PH and BN have struck a deal to form a state government.

BN has 16 seats, PH (8) and PN (17) in the Pahang assembly.

The moves are believed to be consistent with the two coalitions’ anticipated decision to join up to form a coalition government at the federal level. Together, they have 112 seats for a simple majority.
