Syabas activates service centres following scheduled Klang Valley water cut


SYARIKAT Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) will activate nine local service centres, following a scheduled water supply disruption in the Klang Valley starting today.

Head of Syabas’ Customer Relations and Communications Department, Abdul Raof Ahmad, said the centres would be activated from 8am.

“We have prepared our assets to deploy 79 water tankers and 10 jumbo water tankers to provide water to affected customers,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said the centres would operate around the clock, and would have information counters to help affected customers throughout the water disruption period.

In an earlier statement, Syabas said 427 areas in the Klang Valley would experience water disruption due to repair works on critical equipment scheduled to be carried out at the Phase 3 Sg Selangor Water Treatment Plant starting today.

Among the affected areas are Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat.

The following is the estimated period of water disruption, according to area:

Petaling: 8am today to 9pm tomorrow;

Klang/Shah Alam: 8am today to 9am on Friday;

Gombak: 8am today to midnight on Thursday;

Kuala Lumpur: 8am today to 9pm on Thursday;

Kuala Langat: 8am today to 3pm tomorrow; and,

Hulu Selangor: 8am today to 9pm tomorrow.
