EC declares results for 112 seats, no coalition in position to claim victory

THE Election Commission has announced the official results for 112 seats, with no coalition having anywhere near the simple majority needed to win the general election in the 222 seat parliament.

Election Commission Chairman Abdul Ghani Salleh said Pakatan Harapan had won 28 seats, Perikatan Nasional (17) and PAS (18) as a PN ally contested under its logo in Kelantan and Terengganu.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak picked up 17 seats while Barisan Nasional has 16 seats.

The EC chairman said Gabungan Rakyat Sabah picked up 4 seats, DAP (4 seats which the party contested under its own symbol in Sarawak), Parti Warisan Sabah (2 seats),  The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance or Muda (1 seat), Parti Bangsa Malaysia (1) and an Independent (1).

Counting for the remaining 108 seats is ongoing. – November 20, 2022.
