DAP ahead in all 7 Penang parliamentary seats

PAKATAN Harapan’s (PH) component party DAP seems to be ahead in all seven parliamentary seats in Penang. 

With the unofficial results, DAP are holding a commanding lead in Bagan, Bukit Mertajam, Batu Kawan, Bukit Bendera, Tanjong, Jelutong and Bukit Gelugor. 

In Bagan, DAP national chairman Lim Guan Eng has collected 40,267 votes ahead of Perikatan Nasional (PN) Alan Oh (5,116), Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Tan Chuan Hong (4,235) and Pejuang’s Mohammed Hafiz Mohammed Abu Bakar (1,132).

In Bukit Mertajam, Steven Sim Chee Keong leads with 63,160 votes followed by PN’s Steven Koh Tien Yew (12,293) and BN’s Tan Yang Pang (6,290)

In Batu Kawan, Penang chief minister Chan Kon Yeow gathers 32,657 votes, followed by PN’s Wong Chia Zhen (4,835) and BN’s Tan Lee Huat (3,754). 

Syerleena Abdul Rashid leads in Bukit Bendera with 30,090 votes. PN’s Hng Chee Wey is second with 3,060 votes and BN’s Richie Huan Xin Yun comes in third with 2,775 votes. 

Tanjong is led by Lim Hui Ying with 27,174 votes, followed by BN’s Tan Kim Nee (2,624) and PN’s H’ng Khoon Leng (2,062).

Jelutong incumbent RSN Rayer is leading the seat with 29,466 votes, ahead of PN’s Baljit Singh Jigiri Singh (5,978 votes) and BN’s Loganathan Thoraisamy (3,762). 

Bukit Gelugor incumbent Ramkarpal Singh is ahead of his rivals by gaining 49,248 votes so far, followed by PN’s Thinagarabhan Padmanabhan (5,428) and BN’s Wong Chin Chong (4,785). – November 19, 2022.
