INSPECTOR-GENERAL of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani today dismissed a claim made by Anwar Ibrahim that he had informed the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chief of getting ready to form the government as PH was certain to win the general election.
He said that Anwar could have said that in the heat of campaigning for elections.
“No, I don’t plan on taking any action on his speech.
“It’s possible that he was caught up in the heat of the moment during campaigning,” he said at a press conference at the Gombak district police headquarters today, the New Straits Times reported.
A viral video showed Anwar telling a crowd that PH has already secured the required 112 parliamentary seats in the general election.
He also said the IGP had called him and told him to “get ready.”
Acryl said the claim was baseless.
