POLLING for the Tioman state seat, which could not proceed today following the death of Perikatan Nasional candidate Md Yunus Ramli today, will take place on December 7.

Election Commission (EC) chairman Abdul Ghani Salleh set nomination day is set for November 24 and early voting on December 3.

He said the EC was notified of Yunus’ death by the Rompin returning officer today.

“The campaign period is set for 13 days starting after the announcement of candidates on November 24 until 11.59pm on December 6,” he said.

The Padang Serai parliamentary seat election will take place at the same time, following the death of Pakatan Harapan candidate, M. Karupaiya, who was also the incumbent, last Wednesday. – Bernama, November 19, 2022.
