BARISAN Nasional (BN) has  expressed confidence that their respective coalition will win the general election today.

BN chairman Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said his coalition could win enough seats for a majority, based on the feedback from its machinery at polling district centres nationwide.

“Minus the 20% of expected absentee voters… BN is still ahead of other coalitions.

“We hope and pray that we will get enough seats to form the government,” he told reporters after voting at Madrasah Manbail Ulum Sungai Nipah Darat in Bagan Datuk, Perak.

BN is among the four major coalitions running for election. Its key rivals are Pakatan Harapan,  Perikatan Nasional and Gabungan Tanah Air.
