MALAY support for Umno/Barisan Nasional (BN) is continuing to weaken as the nation prepares to vote tomorrow, Rafizi Ramli said.

The PKR deputy president and Pandan candidate said a recent survey showed that Malay support for Umno/BN was the lowest recorded in history, at 26.7%.

“It enjoyed a support of about 33.6% during the last general election (GE). The new figure shows how bad its situation is now,” he said in a statement.

He added that Malay support for Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) is similar, standing at 22% and 23%.

However, he said the support for PH was higher this GE than during past ones.

The percentage of Malay voters who are still undecided has increased by 4% from last week to 24%.

Rafizi also said Chinese and Indian voters are fully behind PH.

“If this trend continues tomorrow, and with a turnout of more than 75%, PH can win more than 100 federal seats,” he said.

The survey was done over Wednesday and Thursday through telephone interactive voice response, involving 1,226 registered voters.

This GE will see which major pact the Malay vote will favour – BN, PH, PN or Gerakan Tanah Air – most of which face multi-cornered fights tomorrow. – November 18, 2022.
