UNIVERSITI Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organised a fleet of 42 buses to ferry its students home to vote tomorrow.

UPM vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohd Roslan Sulaiman said in a statement that a total of 1,355 students would enjoy the free trip back to their respective hometowns.

The students’ journeys began yesterday and will continue today.

“We provide free buses for students to return to their hometowns. So make the most of this opportunity to fulfil your responsibility as a voter this GE15.

“I also hope that students will take care of their own safety and health when returning to their hometowns and during voting,” he said.

The bus trips are made to four zones, namely the east coast zone (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang), the north zone (Penang, Kedah and Perlis), the south zone (Negri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor) and the central zone (Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya), as well as to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

UPM is also coordinating the movement of students at the Bintulu, Sarawak campus to the Bintulu Airport to return to vote in their respective areas.
