A TOTAL of 94.72%, or 212,961 individuals, have fulfilled their responsibility as early voters in the 2022 general election and Bugaya by-election today.

In a statement tonight, Election Commission (EC) secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak said the number comprised military personnel and their spouses, as well as police personnel and their spouses.

He said the EC congratulates all returning officers and their teams for carrying out their responsibilities well for the voting process, which started at 8am.

“We also extend our congratulations and thanks to the Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysian armed forces, Health Ministry, National Security Council, local authorities, Information Department, media and all quarters, directly and indirectly involved, for the cooperation and support given to the EC,” he said.

Polling day for the general election and for the Bugaya by-election is on November 19. – Bernama, November 15, 2022.
