BARISAN Nasional (BN) candidate Reezal Merican Naina Merican for Kepala Batas said his priority is to win by a bigger margin to ensure BN forms a more stable government.
Last night, Reezal said he was confident that voters in his constituency would give him the mandate to continue serving as their MP.
“I want my victory to be more convincing to send a signal to Putrajaya that we in Kepala Batas strongly support the formation of a truly stable government that can ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the rakyat,” he said in the constituency last night.
Reezal, the housing and local government minister, said the emergence of young voters would play an important, if not a vital role.
“All voters are important but I feel the young voters might make a difference. The critical voters are those aged between 18 and 25, as these group can decide who will win, including here,” he said.
Reezal said he has pledged to give 30% of parliamentary constituency funding for women’s programmes.
Reezal will face Danial Abdul Majeed (PH), Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN) and Hamidi Abu Hassan (GTA). – Bernama, November 15, 2022.
