Save this country on Saturday

SOME of us may find that it is easy to relinquish our right to vote in the general election on Saturday, having witnessed the events of the Sheraton move in 2020.

In the run up to this year’s polls, the politicians will show us what we need to see right before we cast our vote.

After we have done so, we will probably get what we asked for but never what we expect.

Once we mark the ballot box with a ‘X’, we realise ‘everything’ was made of pipe smoke and bedtime stories.

The rakyat cannot run from away from themselves forever.

Every generation to date built this country. It is being hopelessly flooded with an ocean of corruption and acts that have destroy it.

Soon, our future generations will be calling us to stave off the abyss of doom.

The present group of politicians will tell us they have got this all figured out.

Don’t trust any of them.

The majority of the rakyat scrape and struggle through their daily lives and they don’t even get crumbs.

For the past few decades, they have found themselves submerged in an ocean of lies and corruption.

Thanks to the pandemic, the rakyat found out that all their beliefs have been a fantasy and have been waving that white flag ever since.

The rakyat have the most powerful weapon the politicians fear: our constitutional right to vote.

The rakyat cannot afford to make that one mistake on Saturday, thinking we can afford to put important things off and fix them in five years’ time.

Do not believe or assume that there would be some kind of course correction afterwards.

There won’t be. No one will be there to do it. Do not sleep walk towards the cliff edge.

If we can’t or don’t wish to vote for ourselves, then vote for our children.

Vote for our grandchildren and all those close to us.

They don’t deserve a country that is descending rapidly into oblivion due to no fault of their own.

It is all unnecessary. We have a beautiful country.

The present and previous generations have poured everything into competition and innovation, which benefits us all, making sure everyone has enough.

Do not trade our future for the politicians to play their elite political games.

There is no valid reason why the rakyat cannot move to models of collaboration and care for each other.

We can also collaborate with and care for our ecosystem. Do not throw it away in exchange for the senseless greed and selfish needs of the politicians.

Save this country on Saturday. Vote for the least corrupt and save our future generations. – November 14, 2022.
