“We believe if we form a government based on these principles, the well-being and welfare of the people will be taken care,” he said launching the manifesto that was streamed live on Facebook.

The GTA manifesto outlined seven key agendas as part of its mission to push the country towards national recovery.

Titled the “New Malaysia Agenda” (Agenda Baharu Malaysia), it promised that the coalition will strengthen the elements of separation of powers through structural and legislative improvements, – including putting the appointments of key government position such as, attorney-general, inspector-general of police, chief justice, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief, chief secretary of the government, treasury secretary-general, auditor-general and Bank Negara governor, among others, under the oversight of parliament.

In its manifesto, GTA wants to introduce political reform by pushing for the enactment of a political funding law, crackdown on the culture of money politics and corruption, as well as establish the principle behind electoral boundary redelineation.

GTA also outlined its plans to address the rising cost of living and increase the income of the people through empowerment of economic activities, providing a better economic ecosystem and creating dignified jobs especially to those in the lower-income group.

On education, GTA plans to bring greater access and wide support especially towards the B40 group and those marginalised from having access to higher education. – November 10, 2022.
