PHASE four of Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) will be disbursed earlier than scheduled, with eligible recipients to receive up to RM900 starting November 15, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a statement, the caretaker prime minister said the handouts, amounting to RM2.1 billion, will be credited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries in stages from next Tuesday till Friday.
“The decision to bring forward phase four of BKM from December to November is to assist the public in facing the monsoon season, which is expected to start in mid-November.
“This payment worth RM2.1 billion will benefit 5.2 million people composed of existing recipients under the household and single senior citizen categories,” he said..
Phase three of BKM, costing the government RM2.2 billion, was disbursed in September.
