MALAYSIA logged 3,267 new Covid-19 infections against 4,026 recoveries yesterday, reducing the active cases in the country to 34,829.
The new infections bring the cumulative number of cases in the country since the onset of the pandemic to 4.94 million.
Ten coronavirus-linked fatalities were reported yesterday, taking the national death toll to 36,514.
There were three deaths in Sabah, two each in Johor and Kedah and one each in Perak, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
Of the new cases, Selangor reported the most infections with 1,267, followed by Kuala Lumpur (322) and Perak (216).
Other states and territories reporting new cases were Malacca (185), Sabah (173), Kelantan (161), Kedah (157), Putrajaya (146), Penang (145), Sarawak (132), Pahang (112), Negri Sembilan (99), Johor (68), Terengganu (55), Labuan (24) and Perlis (5).
Among the active cases, 33,103 people are in home quarantine (95%) and 1,635 in hospitals (5%).
There were 91 patients in intensive care, 63 of whom required respiratory assistance. β November 10, 2022.
