BUKIT Aman will mobilise 31,183 policemen as well as drone assets nationwide to ensure public safety and order on nomination day tomorrow.

Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director and election operations director Hazani Ghazali said it involved monitoring duties by uniformed and plainclothes personnel as well as the drone unit.

“Bukit Aman urges all parties to give their cooperation in complying with the law and to avoid any provocation,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in Penang, the state police spokesman for the polls said more than 2,000 policemen will be deployed at 13 nomination centres as well as surrounding areas to ensure tomorrow’s process goes smoothly.

“Police will close several main roads at the 13 nomination centres and open detours to ensure a smooth flow of the nomination process. The public is asked to obey the instructions of the officers on duty,” he said when contacted today.

The affected roads will be closed from 6am to noon or until the nomination process is completed, he added. – Bernama, November 4, 2022.
