500 still seeking shelter after flooding in Sabah

A TOTAL of 528 people are still at seven relief centres in three districts – Tenom, Beaufort and Kunak – in Sabah as of 8am today.

The secretariat for the state disaster management committee, in a statement, said 443 people are in five shelters in Tenom.

Some 117 people are in Rumah Kebudayaan Makakagas, 29 are in Rumah Kebudayaan Kalang Kanar, 33 are in Rumah Kebudayaan Gunting, 217 are in Rumah Kebudayaan Pagukon and 50 people are in Tenom Sports Complex.

In Beaufort, the shelter is at Dewan Datuk Seri Panglima Dun Banir (57 people), while 28 people are at Dewan Kampung Airport Tun Fuad, Kunak.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms in one or two areas in the interiors in the evening today. – Bernama, November 3, 2022.
