PKR announces Sabah candidates

PKR today announced the candidates it will field for 10 Sabah constituencies in the general election, including listing party vice president Awang Husaini Sahari to defend Putatan and Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Christina Liew to defend Tawau.

PKR also announced new candidates, including Jahalan Taufik Sham for Ranau, which in 2018 was won by Jonathan Yasin on the PKR ticket before he joined Bersatu.

Other PKR candidates are state leadership council chairman Sangkar Rasam (Pensiangan), Beaufort branch chief Dikin Musah (Beaufort), Kota Belud branch chief Mustapha Sakmud (Sepanggar), Thonny Chee (Kudat), Madely Modily Bangali (Kota Belud), Arastam Pandorog (Semporna) and Noraini Abd Ghapur (Kalabakan).

The candidates signed the party’s letter and commitment bond, witnessed by president Anwar Ibrahim in Putatan today.

Anwar said that the coalition and partners have completed the line-up for all 24 parliamentary seats in Sabah, except for Kinabatangan, which is still in discussion.

The Election Commission has fixed polling day on November 19, with nomination day on November 5 and early voting on November 15. – Bernama, October 31, 2022.
