TWO employees of a private hospital in Klang have been arrested for vandalising a Deepavali kolam at the facility.
Police said one of the employees had damaged the kolam while the other one had filmed the act.
Klang Utara district police chief S. Vijaya Rao said the duo were arrested last night when they showed up at the district police headquarters
The two suspects in their 20s and 30s were remanded for three days starting today.
The case is classified under section 298A of the penal code for causing religious disharmony.
A video of one of the suspects, who was clad in a baju Melayu, walking on the kolam went viral yesterday.
KPJ Healthcare, which owns the hospital where the incident took place, has also launched a probe. It said stern action would be taken if hospital staff were involved in the incident. – October 31, 2022.
