New Covid cases surpass 3,000 for second day

MALAYSIA recorded more than 3,000 new Covid-19 cases yesterday for the second day, with 3,189 cases.

This took total confirmed infections in the country to 4,896,922.

One virus-linked death was reported, taking the death toll to 36,464.

The day before, Malaysia logged 3,296 new cases, the first time daily infections exceeded 3,000 mid-August.

There were 2,541 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,829,756.

There are 30,702 active cases, of which 29,330, or 95.5%, are in home quarantine and 1,312 (4.3%) in hospitals. 

Sixty patients are in ICU, 34 of them need of respiratory assistance. – October 30, 2022.
