THE five passengers and a pilot of a helicopter that crashed in the jungles of Cameron Highlands have been found alive, police said.
Perak police chief Yusri Hassan Basri said three of them suffered injuries and have been sent to a hospital in Cameron Highlands.
The victims, he told Free Malaysia Today, were found near where the helicopter crashed.
It was earlier reported that the passengers were a doctor and four medical workers.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) had earlier said it was notified of the air accident involving the Airbus AS 355 F2 helicopter at 1.03pm near Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands.
The aircraft operated by Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd was headed to Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, from Kampung Gawin in Gua Musang, Kelantan.
CAAM chief executive officer Chester Voo said a safety investigation would be conducted by the air accident investigation bureau under the Transport Ministry. β October 26, 2022.
