MESSAGING service WhatsApp was hit by a global outage today, according to reports by monitoring site Downdetector and user complaints on social media.
Downdetector said thousands of WhatsApp users had been reporting problems since this morning. The app’s parent company Meta suffered a major outage last year.
US tech giant Meta has since confirmed the outage, and said it was working to restore the service “as quickly as possible”.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a Meta spokesman told AFP. – AFP, October 25, 2022.
